Dear Pioneer Members of American Advanced Practice Network:

Your decision to become a Pioneer in American-APN has positioned you, and all APRN’s to follow, at the forefront of a movement that helps patients move to new levels of health through the integrated care provided by this collaborative professional network. We are so grateful for your willingness to share our vision of a nation-wide network of independent nurse practitioners (advanced practice nurses) providing quality health care and improved access to patients who might otherwise do without. We are anxious to get to know all of you and to form a powerful support network committed to changing the face of primary care in this country.

As you are learning with us, this is a complex undertaking. We hear daily of your patience with the process and are eternally grateful for this. The good news is that we have an amazing partner in CareSpan Integrated Network; a powerful and experienced team of health care leaders who are equally committed to our vision. They have made a substantial investment in supporting this effort created by nurses for nurses, because they share our vision.

We are very aware that the transition to a complex, new integrated care platform and business support services is a challenge. We are confident your network building efforts (professional and technical) will pay off as American-APN grows. We are equally confident that your role as Pioneers will pay off financially as you contribute to what is becoming a nationwide movement.

The process of transition and expansion introduces you to more and more professionals in various disciplines who believe in APN’s and the contributions that we have to make. Billing and coding, remote patient monitoring, and chronic care management are just some of the ways American-APN helps you take your practice to the next level. Your shared efforts improves access for our patients and bring innovation and healing to a broken health care system.

While you are working hard on the transition to the CSIN, we have launched a Communications Forum to support connections and conversations within American-APN. As you work through the transition process, please identify topics that might be useful and post them on the communication board. Also, please put June 24 on your calendar for our Inaugural Pioneers Launch Meeting via ZOOM.

In the meantime, congratulations on your decision to become a part of American-APN and good luck on transitioning to the platform in June. Lorraine Bock and I have stayed in the background while the platform and business experts are helping you focus on this business transition. Know that we are here to support you, so please feel free to contact either of us whenever you have questions, want to make suggestions for improvement, or just need support in the lonely world of independent practice ownership. Lorraine is attending the AANP meeting in Indianapolis in June (at the NNPEN Booth) and I will be at the Keystone NNP in July. Please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself.

Best Wishes,

Kate Fiandt, CEO
